Exhibition Overview

The artist works with glass and stone as primary mediums. Shaped through intense heat, glass captures the fluidity of mist, rain, and light, while stone, with its quiet weight and natural textures, holds the presence of earth and time. Between transparency and solidity, the intangible and the tangible, movement and stillness, the two materials embody experiences of nature and the sensations of the body.

The two materials converge through processes of direct carving and forming. Rather than imposing complete control over the form, the artist embraces a process of “self-effacement,” allowing the work to emerge through an open dialogue with the materials. The aim is not to replicate nature, but to gradually approach a more genuine and transparent sense of self through the process of engaging with the material.

The works draw inspiration from nature, everyday life, and the seemingly insignificant things that surround us. Water vapor in the rain, mist drifting through the mountains, the blooming and withering of lotus flowers, and even a tube of toothpaste that has accompanied the artist for decades become starting points for creation. Freed from their ordinary functions, these familiar objects are transformed into imaginative forms imbued with romance and playfulness.

Water serves as a recurring thread throughout the exhibition—from rain falling from the sky and mist moving through the mountains to water flowing across the earth and shimmering in the light. Everyday experiences are distilled into a spiritual landscape, inviting viewers to encounter the continuous flow of life through light, air, material, and imagination.
